Waldsee Thermal Baths

The baths are perfectly complemented by the sauna and wellness complex, which opened in 2017. With timber facades and sedum green roofs, the two new buildings blend perfectly into the landscape. Lying opposite one another, they enclose a fabulous outdoor complex incorporating a spacious sunbathing lawn located beneath mature trees, an open-air thermal pool and a sun terrace. With an area of over 4,000 square metres and a choice of gentle steam baths, infra-red cabins or classic hot dry saunas, guests have plenty of room to relax and wind down, both mentally and physically. In the Urbach sauna, named after the small stream running through the sauna complex, the sweating process is enhanced by regular sauna infusions. The mud sauna is a very special experience. This is a type of oriental rhassoul bath involving the combined use of therapeutic mud, body scrub and steam bath. This three-pronged treatment stimulates the circulation and metabolism, purifies the body and pampers the skin. The temperature in the sauna starts at around 38 degress, subsequently rising to 50 degrees. At the same time the hitherto dry air in the room gains moisture until a humidity level of 80% is attained. In preparation, therapeutic mud is rubbed into the body under the supervision of professional sauna staff.
